    Call of the Estates Generals
    This meeting consisted of the clergy, the nobeles, and the common peope. This was the first time the Estates Generals met since 1614. The wanted KingLouis XVI to comment on the financial difficulties that France was going through at the time.
    This was the first event that would lead into the French Revolution.

    Tennis Court Oath
    This Oath was like a pledge that was signed by 576 of the original 577 members of the Third Estate. THey called themselves a National Assembly. SInce they were attacking the King they had to hide out in a nearby inside tennis court.
    This was the first action to take againt the King.

    Storming of the Bastille
    Bastille was a prision in Paris France. There were only a total of 7 prisionors inside of the prison at the time but the attack was made to mean a lot more. It was to been seen a symbol of abuse of the monarchy.

    Declaration of the Rights of Man
    On this day it was aproved by the National Assembly of France. It consists of 17 right that all men and citizens have. Such as natural rights and suties they are to be held responsible for in their lives.
    This is huge becasue it is the French Governemnt responding to all that is going on.

  • Womens March on Versailles

    Womens March on Versailles
    7,000 working women marched to Bersailles to attack the royal family. They were put up against guard when they reached the royal family but were able to get into the palace to get the queen only to have the queen to escape safely.
    This wa the event that gave women a whole new role in the revolution. They had somethign to fight for too.

    Civil Constitution of the Clergy
    On this day the law was passed that subordinated the Roman Catholic Church in France to the French Government. This completed the destruction of the monastic orders.
    This is big because now the churches are involved.

    Royal Family Attempts to Flee
    The idea was thought of by the King to flee himself and his family to Austria for safety. This attempt to flee failed to the blockade of soldiers on the roads leading out. This now made the king accept every demand that was put on him.
    This date is a major event becasue this is bascially the day that showed the king no longer has power over the people.

    Execution of King
    On this day King Louis XVI was executed by guillotine in the Place de la Revolution in Paris. His execution was sentenced to him by the French National Convention. He was allegedly talking to other foreign nations such as Austria in creating a plan to escape the Revolution.
    The death to a countries king show the chaos that is going on and now the one "in charge" was put to death by his own nation.

    Reign of Terror

    Over this period of time violence broke our and France was broken into two parties. THey were the Girondins and the Jacobins. Over this time 16,594 were executed by guilontine and more over 25,000 were executed in other methods across France.
    This was a time of war like. French killing the French for almost a year straight.

  • Exectuion of Robespierre

    Exectuion of Robespierre
    On this day Maximilien Robespierre was taken into arrest and later exectued along with his 21 allies. Within the next two days all of 82 followers were exectued. The reign of terror was over.
    This ended the reign of terror and the French Revolution
