Wedding of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI
Although there were unjust events as a result of the French Revolution, the pros out-weigh the cons. Leaving it a mainly just endevor.
Louis and Marie were married on April 19, 1770. Their grand wedding cost France thousands upon thousands of dollars. However, created a new ally.
Transition; Marie was from Austria which brought a new ally for the French. During this thime, France helped the colonies beat England which gave them an ally overseas. -
Treatment of the Lower Class
In the 1780's taxes were risen and grain prices went up due to the fact that France was going bankrupt. In the photo we see the king distributing food and resources to the poor.This caused the people to write books, to create a better/more fiar government.
Transition; Although there are unjust things going on, this inspired the enlightenment thinkers to write books to further the spread of their ideas. -
Treatment of the Lower Class
In the photo we are able to see the King riding on a peasant. This shows the unequal rights of the classes.
Transition; Because of this inequality, the minority class were angry and decided to do something about it to gain rights. -

This was the start of the National Assembly. They focused on bringing more power to the people rather than an absolute monarchy.
Transition; This meeting brought a sense of change and the idea to bring more power to the people. -
Storming the Bastille
The bigest prison in France was overtaken by the common people. This turning event initiated the revolution.
Transition; This was a major advantange for the common people to help them show the government. They gained momentum for the revolution. -
Women March on Versailles
The King tried to escape therefore the people of France believed he had given up his kingship. This fueled the fire for taking th eking out of power.
Transition; The women stormed the palace to bring him to justice for "leaving the throne" and fleeing. -
Execution Of Louis XVI
The King was tried and executed for treason by the Comittee Of Public Saftey. He and his wife were part of the monarchy that was ruining France in debt and destruction.
Transition ; this started the period known as the Terror which included the deaths of many people, mainly who were innocent. -
Execution of Marie Antoinette
Following the death of her husband, Marie Atoinette was "tried" and executed by the Comittee of Public Saftey during the Terror. He trial was with 16,000 other people.
Transition; The Terror started in order to keep the governement in power, however this caused much hatred for the government due to the extreme amount of death. Napoleon steps in to end the death in the streets. -
Napoleon Comes Into Power
Napoleon Bonaparte was a strong military leader and respected by France for keeping them out of war. He helps bring an end to the Terror and get them to a better state of security.
FInal Thought: Although there were unjust events in the French Revolution it is ultimately Just due to the fact it helped other countried through books and gave the people more power.
