    On July 4th, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress. Written by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration of Independence stated the reasons why the United states should become its own government and branch away from Britain.

    This was the day that Napoleon agreed to sell Louisiana to the United States. This doubled the United States and gave them control of the Mississippi River. This was a very good deal as the United States only had to pay $15 million.

    Lewis and Clark's Journey
    This was when Lewis and Clark set out on a journey to the West and Pacific Ocean. Along their way they experienced encounters with Native Americans, natural disasters, and sickness. Eventually they found their way to the West. Along the way they designed a map that gave a main route through the West and discovered over 200 animal and plant species.

    The Texas Revolution was a rebellion of colonists from the United States and Tejano. They were upset with the Texas government for passing laws that they did not agree with. This resulted in a war that the rebellion won and gave Texas its independence until it converted to part of the United States.

    The Donner Party
    This was a group of pioneers who set out to California in a wagon train. The group was led by George Donner and James F. Reed. The group mistakenly went through the wrong trail to get to California. This resulted in them getting stranded for the entire Winter. They didn't have enough resources to get through Winter which resulted in some pioneers resorting to cannibalism.

    This was an event that took place in the 1800's. Many people from all over the globe such as Ireland, China, and more went to California to try to mine gold. Many were unsuccessful and it was a big risk, however, it brought many people West and made a lot of money for some people.

    The Civil War

    The Civil War was a war fought by the Union and Confederates. This was a war in order for the Union to preserve itself and to free all slaves. For the Confederates, this was a war to fight for their "rights" and keep slavery for their economy. This war ended up being in the Union's favor as they won the war on May 13th of 1865.

    The attack on Pearl Harbor was the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. This caused the United States to enter into World War 2 and to declare war against Japan. The attack was also known as the Battle of Pearl Harbor.

    The day the Bills lost 4 straight Super Bowls
    On January 30th, 1994, the Bills had lost 4 straight super bowls. The game was against the Cowboys and they lost 30 - 13. The Super Bowl MVP was Emmitt Smith who was the running back for the Cowboys at that time. Since then, the Bills have never been back to the Super bowl and haven't even made it to the playoffs in the 2000's yet.

    On September 11, 2001 a terrorist attack occurred on the twin towers and the pentagon. The terrorist group responsible was al-Qaeda. Almost 3,000 people died and caused 10 billion dollars in infrastructure and property damage.

    This was the day I was born.
  • Packers Super Bowl Win

    Packers Super Bowl Win
    On February 6th, 2011, the Packers beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl. The MVP being Aaron Rodgers and the final score being 31 - 25. The Packers dominated the Steelers for the entire first half and most of the game. However, the Steelers made a slight comeback in the second half but fell short at the end and lost.
