    Step 1
    The person first eats the food and breaks it down.
  • Step 2

    When a person first eats an item they are allergic to there may not be an immediate outward reaction. There is a reaction on the inside when the antibodies begin to attach themselves to the cells within the body.
  • Step 3

    The body then begins to send out signals and warnings. The body wants to release large amount of histamine.
  • Step 4

    Step 4
    The person begins to feel irritation or swelling within different parts of their body, this is an allergic reaction.
  • Step 5

    The next step differs depending on the person. A person may being to physically show signs of the allergic reaction. That may be hives, swelling, etc. Some may even show sign of anaphylaxis which can lead to death.
  • Step 6

    Step 6
    At this point a person should have already used their allergy medication or seen a doctor. The immune system has gained what it needs in order to calm down.
