    Manhattan Project

    The United States in fear of National Socialist Germany attempting to develop the first atomic bomb conducting one of the largest research and developments in history. Robert Oppenheimer is credited for the greatest effort in constructing the first nuclear weapons. The United States was able to construct the first nuclear weapons in history.
  • First General Purpose Digital Computer

    The first general purple computer was completed in 1945. It was codenamed ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer). This invention began the revolutionary age of technology and electronics of computers.

    Cold War

    Right after the Second World War ended the alliance between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and Western Civilization collapsed. Shortly after, diplomacy between both major superpowers (U.S. and U.S.S.R) escalated into a major ideological and geopolitical struggle. This major event saw massive nuclear buildup, spy espionage, and proxy wars.

    After the Western Allies achieved victory after WW2, capitalism saw a extreme boom. It was mostly America that experienced this boom since other capitalist countries either had small economies or owed massive sums to the United States due to WW2.

    Second World War Ends

    The Allied Powers achieved victory over the European Axis Powers in May, 8 1945. Later that year, Imperial Japan surrendered on September 2, 1945. All major Axis powers surrenderd unconditionally with military occupations and re-carving of territory. The greatest conflict in history saw over 80 million dead with untold destruction in mainly both Europe and Asia.

    "Fat Man" and "Little Boy"

    The first two nuclear weapons were used at the end of the Second World War. "Little boy" was dropped on August 6, 1945 on the Japanese City of Hiroshima. "Fat Man" was dropped on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. Both Atomic bombs annihilated both cities and almost all its inhabitants.

    NATO and the Warsaw Pact

    Both the Western Capitalist countries and the Eastern Communist countries signed treaties to strengthen their defense against their ideological enemies. The Democratic counties signed NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) in April 4, 1949 and the Communist countries the Warsaw Pact in May 1955. The treaties were military alliances bound to aid each other in defense in case war started.

    Korean War

    One of the major proxy wars between NATO and the Warsaw Pact (Including PRC). The war began after attempts to re-unificate all of Korea by Communist North Korea on Democratic South Korea. After multiple offensives and no complete victor, both sides unofficially called a truce. The hotly contested border between North and South Korea still remains to this day.
