Japan and Weakness
Russia faced a series of crisis. The event of Japan attacking Russia showed the czars weakness and started a way to the revolution. The people thought to show their power with riots and violence. -
Death on the Doorstep
This day was called Bloody Sunday. 200,000 workers came to the palace carrying a petition asking for better working conditions and personal freedom. The act resulted in the Generals orders to shoo into the crowd, killing many. -
Russia's First Parliament
The first Duma met. Czar got rid of the parliament so he didn't have to share his powers. Duma was not loved by the people and more protest broke out. -
Beginning of the End
Russias joined Wrold War 1, but their military was unprepared and unable to handle economic costs. Weak generals and poor army los to Germany. 4 million soldiers were killed and the Czar's rule weakened. -
Women Fight Back
Women textile workers led a city wide strike. They rioted because of bread and fuel shortages. Soldiers abeyed orders to shoot them, but later sided with them. -
Rioting in Russia
The strike from March gained speed and went on until he fell. People in the cities were rallying the call "All power to the survivors" and many more joined in. The strike grew with everyday that went by. -
Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
Russia and Germany signed a treaty. The treaty surrendered a large part of its territory to Germany and its allies. Many Russians were upset and it started the plans to murder the royal family. -
The Helpless Army
Leon Trotsky commanded the red army. From 1918-1920 a civil war was active in Russia. Many nations including the USA aided Russia, but they were little help. -
Ungrateful Happiness
The New Economic policy was started. It allowed people to sell their crops rather than hand them over to the government. People made perosonal gains in money. This helped keep people happy, but they wanted more. -

Lenin had a stroke. Leon Trotsky and Joseph Stalin helped him. Stalin was cold and hfard but became dictator. Leon warned the people of him, but Stalin had him exiled
