    Meeting of the Estates General
    King Louis XVI summons the Estates General with an aim to resolve the monarchy's financial crisis. There were three classes represented, the nobles, the clergy and the rest of the population also known as the Third Estate.

    Fall of the Bastille
    An angry crowd of people marched on to the Bastille. Many people back then saw the prison and a symbol of Louis much hated regime. The people eventually destroyed the Bastille and the troops surrendered

    March on Versailles
    A mob of angry, hungry protesters break in to the quarters of Queen Marie Antoinette. They demanded bread and they demanded that the King and his family come back to Paris with them.
