    The Bastille was created to protect Paris form being attacked by the English. Before the Bastille was used to protect Paris, it was used as a prison. The Bastille in the end, ended up being torn down, and now in France they celebrate on what they call "Bastille Day".

    The Declaration of the rights of man means that all men are equal under the law. The women and children were never affected by this nor did it really have anything to do with them. It was approved by the national assembly in August, 1789.
