    The Tennis Court Oath
    In Versailles, France when the Third Estate representatives when to attend their meeting, with the two upper Estates, they found the doors to be locked. As an act of definement they decided to meet at Jeu de Paume, an indoor tennis court. Then the Third Estate took an oath not to leave France until there is a new constitution.

    Storming of the Bastille
    The Citizens of France were outraged from the food shortages and the high amount of taxes from the king. In Paris sat the Bastille, the symbol of the monarchy, where gunpowder and prisoners of war were held. The people of Paris stormed the Bastille, taking all the weapons they could find and freeing the prisoners.

    A seventeen article document that served as the constitution for France. The bill was in affect for four years. The main idea of it was that all men were equal, but only white men. This bill applied to only white men, no colored man, or women in general.

    The women march on Versailles
    The women in the marketplaces of Paris were marching to riot over the high price and small amounts of bread. The march quickly grew in to a group of thousand as their march became intertwined with the acts of the Revolution. Racing to the king's castle, knocked the doors in and storming the place. They pressed their demands of more bread on the king and the new day him and his family were moved to the city of Paris.

    The Queen being native to Austria, the royal family tried to escape from Pairs to take shelter. Dressed as peasant they jump in a carriage and flee sheltered by the night. They make it all the way to Verannes where they are stopped at a check out and are caught. The king is sent back to Paris where he is to stand trail.

    The French declares war on Austria ans Prussia. The public had been pushing for war on them for a decant amount of time and the Legislative Assembly- the Frenches body of government declares war. They want to spread of the ideas of the French Revolution over all of Europe. But the French army flees at the first sight of the enemy, knowing that they had no chance of winning.

    The king is unable to fulfill his duties and lets the country of France outraged. He then tries to flee the country at night to his rival country the one where the Queen is from, Austria. He is trial harshly and is sentenced to death. He is executed on the guillotine, a killing weapon that he helped design.

    A political body of French Revolution people that gained control while France was submerged under the Reign of Terror. It was set up during the time that France was being hammered by foreign force and their own civil war. It also provided defense for the nation from domestic and foreign powers.
  • Reign of Terror

    Reign of Terror
    This was a time period of nine months when in Paris the heads were rolling. 16,000 people were beheaded at the guillotine. The purpose of the reign of terror was to protect France from from foreign invaders. During this time the power shifted from Danton to Robespierre.
  • Napoleonic control

    In 1799 Napoleon Bonaparte in France seized political power. Fire years later he claimed the title of emperor for himself. In 1812 he invaded Russia and then was exiled two years later for not being able to fulfill his crown.
