    The Decembrist Revolt
    The northern society staged an uprising convinced some troops of St. Petersburg to refuse to take the loyalty oath of new czar Nicholas I. Since the rebellion was poorly organized, Colonel Prince Sergey Trubetskoy, who was suppose to be the new leader fled immediatly.

    Nicholas II Becomes Czar of Russia
    Nicholas II became czar after his father, Alexander III died. People believed that Nicholas was to inexpericenced to be the czar, and that he was to young to rule. He would lead Russia from the most powerful country to many different military and economic collapses

    Started when there was conflict between Russia and Japan over Korea and Manchuria, this then would lead to the stunning defeat of Russia. Ended in 1905

    When thousands of unarmed men and women marched to the czars palace, but when the got close soldiers appeared and killed over 100 of the marchers
  • World War I (Russian Involvement)

    World War I (Russian Involvement)
    When Russia entered WW1 it would affect Russia in many diffferent ways. First, Nicholas II left his wife in charge of the cities while he went off to fight and all she cared about was her son, Alexi. The Russian Army after two fights before WW1 was very weak and wouldn't hold up against the strong armies.

    The March Revolution
    Started with 30,000 workers locked out of work, which would lead to riots in Petrograd. After Nicholas called in the police the rioters became even more angry. This then caused Nicholas II to step down as czar of Russia.

    Czar Nicholas II Abdicates the Russian Throne
    After the army garrison at Pentrograd joined striking workers demanding socialist reforms, Czar Nicholas II abdicatated the throne of Russia. The provincial government was put in his place.

    With the czar now out of power, the two main political parties would battle for Russia's political power. The battle was between the Bolshviks and the provisional government. The Bolshviks ended up winning and they took over the government. This war lasted 5 years

    The USSR was also known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It was divided into four different regions, and all were run under the Bolshevik government. The USSR would collapse in 1991.

    Vladimir Lenin's Death
    The death of Lenin opened the doors for Joseph Stalin to take over the Soviet Union. Lenin was the original leader of the Soviet Union, and he lead the new government for 7 years.
