    The names of the seven sisters are Blessed Sister Maria Gabriela de Hinolosa Naveros, Blessed Sister Josefa Maria Darrera Izaguirre, Blessed Sister Teresa Maria Cavestany y Anduaga, Blessed Sister Maria Angela Olaizola Garagarza, Blessed Sister Maria Engracla Lecuona Ararnburu, Blessed Sister Maria Ines Zudaire Galdeano and Blessed Sister Maria Cecilia Cendoya Araquista. The oldest was 56 years old while the youngest was just 26 years old

  • Religious persecution

    In 1936 during the Spanish civil war religious persecution began and the sisters hid in a neighborhood, hiding from the Prosecuters

  • Found while hiding

    In July a neighbor found out that they were hiding and went to the authority's. They were ripped out of hiding and all their belongings were taken away.

  • Death

    A few days later after being captured all of the sisters were lined up next to each other and faced a firing squad. All of them died that except the youngest who ran away before they fired. She was was found a few days later and was executed.
