    This was a communication between Germany and Mexico for an alliance if the U.S. entered WWI. It was decoded and found out by British decoders and was another reason the U.S. ended up joining the war.
  • The WWI Armistice

    This was the agreement that ended fighting in the Western Front that was agreed upon by the allies and Germany.
  • The 19th Amendment

    This granted Women the right to vote.
  • Charles Lindbergh’s Flight

    This was the day Charles Lindbergh took off to fly across the Atlantic Ocean to Paris from New York.
  • Black Thursday

    A record number of shares were purchased this day and it started the crash that caused the great depression.
  • Hitler becomes chancellor

    After different parliamentary elections, Hitler became chancellor on this date.
  • The New Deal

    This involved programs involving things such as social security and made the Democratic party the major party. Took place during 1933-1938
  • The Munich Pact

    This day the agreement was signed to allow Germany to occupy parts of Czechoslovakia.
  • Hitler Invades Poland

    This marks the beginning of WWII. It was started when Nazi Germany invaded Poland from the north, south, and west.
  • Pearl Harbor

    This is the date Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese, which threw America into WWII.
  • D-Day

    This was the code name for the landings on the shores of Normandy Beach to fight the Nazis occupying France.
  • Hiroshima & Nagasaki

    The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki happened on August 6th and 9th.
  • The formation of United Nations

    Supposed to be an organization (created after WWII) to prevent another Conflict like WWII.
  • The Long Telegram

    This described a possible way to deal with Soviet Communism.
  • The Korean War

    This date marked the start of the Korean war which was supposed to stop the Japanese rule in Korea.
  • Russians acquire the Atomic Bomb

    After WWII and during Atom bomb development, spies were able to give the Soviets detailed information on the Atom bomb creation.
  • The formation of NATO

    This stood for the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and it was approved on this date.
  • Brown v Board of Education

    Case where the court declared that different schools for white people and black people was unconstitutional.
  • The Vietnam War

    This is the date that the war started.
  • Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat

    Rosa Parks was a civil rights activist who refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white person and was persecuted for it.
  • The Cuban Missile Crisis

    This date was the start of the Cuban missile crisis which was an escalated time of the Cold War where Nuclear war could have happened super quickly.
  • JFK’s Assassination

    President John Kennedy was assassinated this day.
  • The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

    Lyndon B. Johnson declared this act of war without congress and so it was a big deal.
  • The Apollo 11 Moon Landing

    This was the date Neil Armstrong became the first man to step foot on the moon as a result of the Apollo 11 mission.
  • The Watergate Break-ins

    This was a presidential scandal involving Nixon that caused the burglary and illegal wiretapping of the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. This is the date of a burglary.
  • Nixon’s Resignation

    Nixon resigned as president of the U.S.
  • The Fall of the Berlin Wall

    This was the day the Berlin wall first started to be crossed and destroyed.
  • The invention of the Internet

    The internet (or the world wide web) started being used in the late 1990's
  • The 9/11 Attacks

    Terrorist attacks carried out on the two world trade centers in New York City and resulted in thousands dead.
