    Industrial Revolution
    The Industrial Revolution was when machines were created. They were still figuring out new ways to live and many people liked this because they were changing things for the better and making it easier to live. Americans work did not have to be done by hand as often as normal, people were starting to get used to not having to physically do all of the work by hand.
  • Civil War

    Civil War
    The Civil War was mostly known by "the war between states". The Civil War was with The United States, and the Confederate States. Eleven states wanted to create their own country and they all had a debate over slavery.
  • Haymarket Square Riot

    The Haymarket square riot was a protest that took place in Chicago. The riot was a labor protest that ended up getting out of hand. During the protest people were going crazy and someone threw a bomb. The riot caused eight people to loose their life.
  • The Pullman Strike

    The Pullman Strike was the main railroads in America. The strike was nationwide and it ruined the rail systems. The Government ended up breaking the strike because they needed the Pullman company to help out a lot of things.
  • Ludlow Massacre

    The Ludlow Massacre was an attack by the Colorado National Guard and Colorado Iron Fuel Company on a large group of people set up in tents.Most of the people who were killed were familys that went on strike. There was over 25 people that were killed.
  • The Great Depression

    The Great Depression was the worst downfall of the United States. The Great Depression started when the stock market crashed and people lost their jobs. Most people became homelss and couldent provide for their families.
  • The New Deal

    The new deal was a lot of programs and laws passed by congress and presidential executives. These programs were apart of the Great Depression. It took away some laws about public work and the right to create unions.
  • World War II

    World War II was the worst war there was, there were more people killed in WWII than any other war. WWII involved ever 30 countries, Adolf Hitlier was the biggest conflic of in the war. There were way over 52 millon people were left to die or leaft dead.
  • Steel Strike of 1959

    The Steel Strike was on 1959, people of United Steelworkers decided to go on strike. It lasted 116 days, the Strike started because they wanted better job security. At the end of their strike they ended up making everybody go back to work and didn't give them what they wanted
  • Equal Pay Act of 1963

    The Equal Pay Act is a law amending the Fair Labor Standards. It was to get away with pay based on gender. John Kennedy help with this law. Women had a huge change because before the law passed the women weren't getting paid as much as they should and they were being treated porrly.
  • Civil Rights Act of 1964

    The Civil Rights Act was a law that prohibited discrimination. you could not discriminate people by anything.(sex, color, religion, etc) This was passed so everybody can be treated equally
