    Triple Alliance is formed between Germany, Austria Hungary, Italy
    Germany, Austria Hungar, and Italy came together to form the Triple Alliance to join powers for isolating France since they were the "greatestthreat to peace." Otto Von Bismark believed France still wanted revenge for their defeat in the Franco-Prussian war so hi main goal was to isolate them. The treaty formed between Germany, Austria Hungary, Russia, and Italy made it so that it was no longer a two man war, but a war combined between many countries, World War 1.

    The triple alliance and triple entente formed together. Germany did this so that France wouldnt have an ally, leaving them isolated.

    In 1890 Bismarck resigned at Wilhelm's insistance. Wilhelm interfered with the foriegn and domestic policies leading to Bismarck being furious with him. the Emperor soon began to go against Bismarck and Bismarck was trying to make things right with Wilhelm. This only made things worse and causing Wilhelm to be more distance. Bismarck then started to get revenge and create disagreements with Wilhelm but Wilhelm just made him more hated leading Bismarck to resign.

    Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were shot by Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo. The reason they were shot was because the Serbians were angry with the Austrian rule. This created an immediate reaction for Austria- Hungary to respond in war.

    Due to the previous event, the assination, Austria-Hungary gives Serbia an ultimatum with a lot of demands. They wanted Serbia to not accept these demands so they made them very harsh. Although, Serbia did accept all of them but one and that led Austria- Hungary to declare war against Serbia.

Every solider was told to fight and it went on for four straight days until Germany gave up the battle and ordered a retreat. This was a successful battle because it caused the Germans to defeat and the Schliefflen Plan to fail.

    Lusitania is a ship that was sunk by a German submarine. About 1,195 people died and about 125 American citizens died. The president at the time, Woodrow Wilson, sent a protest to Germany in return. The attack from the US caused the anger to grow and leads to later conflict of which side America should choose.

    This was a teriible battle in which the Germans attacked the Allies. Over 20,000 british solidiers lost their lives in one day. This war benefitted nothing because over half a million died from both sides.

    Germany decides to establish their own blockade against Britain. It was called the unrestricted submarine warfare because Germany announces that Britain's submarines would sink without warning any ships around Britain. The effect it had on WWI is that it caused conflict with Britain and then later one it also caused conflict with the U.S.

    U.S. intercepted the Zimmerman Note
    The British detained the Zimmermann Note from Germany to Mexico. The note said that if Mexico allied with Germany then Germany would help them get the land that they lost to the U.S. This note was sent to the U.S. and it made the U.S. angry and wanted war against Germany. In effect, this note is causing the U.S. to get closer to the idea of going to war.
