    Cyrano arrives (Act 1, Scene 3)
    Cyrano arrives at the play and commands the actor, Montfleury, to get off the stage. He then pays off the actors and crew to cancel the play because he did not like the playwright. This causes Cyrano to have little money left. The actors and crew are indifferent about the play being cancelled, but the audience is confused and irritated as to why Cyrano cancelled it.
  • Cyrano duels Vicomte de Valvert (Act 1, Scene 4)

    Cyrano duels Vicomte de Valvert (Act 1, Scene 4)
    Cyrano and Valvert get into an argument and Valvert makes fun of Cyrano's nose and Cyrano mocks Valvert. Valvert is enraged when Cyrano mocks him and challenges Cyrano to a duel. Cyrano accepts and easily defeats Valvert.
  • Cyrano's encounter with Lady Roxane and Christian de Neuvillette (Act 2, Scene 6)

    Cyrano receives a letter from Roxane asking him to meet her at a pastry shop. Cyrano has a deep love for Roxane so he is nervous for the meeting. They meet and Roxane tells Cyrano that she is in love with Christian and she wants Christian to write her a love letter. Cyrano runs into Christian and Christian makes fun of his nose. Everyone expects Cyrano to kill Christian but instead he agrees to write a love letter to Roxane on his behalf.
  • Cyrano visits Roxane (Act 3, Scene 1)

    Cyrano visits Roxane at her house and they talk about Christian. Roxane thinks very highly of Christian and she was very impressed by the love letter she received. This makes Cyrano irritated because he is the one who actually wrote the letter, but he has to leave because Comte de Guiche is coming.
  • Comte de Guiche visits Roxane (Act 3, Scene 2)

    Comte de Guiche visits Roxane (Act 3, Scene 2)
    After Cyrano leaves, Comte de Guiche comes to visit Roxane and tells her that he has been made Colonel of his company. His first act is to take his company into war and he says they will depart tomorrow. Roxane is anxious about about Cyrano and Christian having to go into battle with Comte de Guiche's company.
  • Roxane's plan (Act 3, Scene 2)

    Roxane doesn't want Cyrano or Christian to go to war so she tells Comte de Guiche that she is in love with him and that she just pretended to hate him. She then tells him that the best way do get revenge on Cyrano for what he did to Valvert is to not let him go to war because he would hate to miss all the excitement. Comte de Guiches believes her.
  • Christian and Roxane (Act 3, Scene 4)

    Christian wants to visit Roxane and Cyrano tells him to memorize some romantic lines before he goes. Christian is sick of Cyrano helping him so he takes his own path. He goes to Roxanes house and the only thing he says is "I love you." Roxane is angry because she expected something more romantic. Christain goes back to Cyrano and begs him to fix it.

    Comte de Guiche finds out that Roxane tricked him and that she and Christian are trying to get married. To get Roxane back he tells Cyrano and Christian that they are leaving for battle tomorrow.

    Christian wins Roxane back (Act 3,Scene 7)
    After Christian's failed attempt to win Roxane's heart, Cyrano agrees to help him by hiding under the balcony of Roxane's house and reciting a love poem. Roxane is overwhelmed with love and once Cyrano finishes the poem, Christain climbs the balcony and gets a kiss from Roxane. Roxane wants to marry Christian immediately and they rush to find a priest.
  • Roxane arrives on the battlefield (Act 4,Scene 5)

    One month later while Cyrano and Christian are with their company starving on the battlefield, Roxane shows up. She brings food for all the soldiers.
  • Christian is shot (Act 4,Scene 9)

    Right before Christian is going to tell Roxane the truth about the letters, he is shot. Cyrano decides not to tell Roxane the truth and he lets her grieve over the death of Christian.
  • Christian feels bad (Act 4, Scene 9)

    Christian feels bad about not writing any of the poems or letters to Roxane and he wants Cyrano to tell Roxane the truth. Christian tells Cyrano that Roxane is not in love with him. Cyrano goes to tell Roxane the truth.
  • Roxane becomes a nun (Act 5, Scene 1)

    Fifteen years after Christian's death Roxane joins the Covent of the Ladies of the Cross and becomes a nun. Cyrano comes and visits Roxanne every Saturday and he is the only one that can make her laugh.
  • Cyrano is mortally wounded (Act 5, Scene 3)

    Cyrano is beneath a high window and a huge log falls down and hits him in the skull. He is barely alive and mortally wounded.
  • Roxane finds out the truth (Act 5, Scene 5)

    Roxane meets Cyrano while he is on his death bed and she finds out the truth and how it was Cyrano that wrote all the letters and poems to her not Christian. Cyrano tries to deny but she doesn't believe him and she gives Cyrano a kiss right before he dies.
