This General Assembly representated all 3 estates in France. 300 representatives for the clergy, 300 for the nobles and 600 for the Commoneers. -
Burning of the Bastille
Early morning, this medieval fortress and prison was burned and destroyed. It was known as Bastille and represented royal authority in Paris, France. -
End of Feudelism
On this date, feudalism ended. The division between all 3 estates was ended because of protests and their unity. -
Bread Riots
When the price increased in bread, citizens gathered and threw bread and dough into the gutter as a way or protest. -
Blacks are Equal
On May 15, 1791, the black people are finally granted equal rights. These will only be those of French Colonies. -
Royal Family attempts to flee from France
On June 1791, King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette tried to flee from France secretly with their family. -
New Constitution
On this date, a new constitution was created, The monarchy was limited and the Legislative Assembly was created. -
King accepts Constitution
On this date, King Louis XVI finally accepts the constitution in the monarchy. He is no longer an absolute monarch but has to follow some rules. -
Abolished the Monarchy
On September 21, 1792 the absolute monarchy was abolished in France. This was after years of trying. -
Execution of King
On January 1793, King Louis XVI of France is executed. He was beheaded in the Revolution Square which was then renamed Place de la Concorde.
