    King Louis XIV dies
    When Louis XIV dies he leaves France in extreme debt. The reason he left France in debt was because he spent most of the tax money on Versailles and that left France upset. The peasants and the Third Estate were not happy with this which led to the Estates General.
  • The meeting of the Estates General

    The meeting of the Estates General
    The Estates General was an assembly of representatives from all the Estates. The economic problems France was having was their debt. he called for it because he needed help to control the peasants and maybe not make them extremely upset with him, but it still led to the Revolution in a way.
  • The information of the National Assembly and the Tennis Court Oath

    The information of the National Assembly and the Tennis Court Oath
    The National Assembly was made up of the Third Estate and they said that they would pass their own laws and proclaimed to end absolute monarchy. The Tennis Court Oath said that they would not leave until they wrote a constitution. And because of that King Louis stationed an army around Versailles.

    The the storming of Bastille was the sparking point of the revolution. The reason that the the storming of Bastille happened was because rumors spread that it was King Louis vs the Peasants of France. So they stole the weapons inside and then it finally gave the peasants the confidence they needed to defeat King Louis XVI.

    The Declarations Rights of Man was a document that left the rights of man and listed the rights and wrongs of each man. I said the freedom of liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression (Rebel).

    The Woman's March on Versailles was when the woman of the peasants went with pitchforks and torches to go up to Versailles and demanded bread.

    When King Louis and his family tried to flee France they weren't out for a very long time. When they were in disguise they were getting something from a store clerk and when he looked at the money he gave him when he looked at the face on the coin it was of the man in front of him! So therefore, he was apprehended and taken into the France underground.

    This constitution stripped the King of most of his abilities as King so it would not be a Absolute Monarchy. This Executive body had the power to create laws and to approve or reject declarations of war. But, the king still had the executive power to enforce laws.

    The Jacobin's took control for a little bit but not for long. One of the most important Jacobin's was Jean Paul Marat and he created the guillotine. Which executed Louis.

    Louis was executed
    King Louis was executed on January 21 1793. He was then executed for treason. He was also executed by guillotine.

    Robespierre becomes leader of the Committee of Public Safety/ Reign of Terror
    Robespierre was a man who greatly supported the revolution. The Committee of Public Safety was to protect the revolution, but it also led to the reign of terror. The Reign of Terror was when Robespierre decided that everybody that didn't support the revolution would be killed. He killed over 40,000 people and not all of them were peasants there were some priests and nobles thrown in the mix a bit.

    Robespierre was executed on July 28 1794. He was executed because he brought France out of a bad place but when he chowed down on 40,000 of the population they didn't want that to keep going on so they overthrew him and executed him by guillotine.
  • A new Government

    After Robespierre was executed Napoleon became King. But he did not want it to be a monarchy or anything like that. He made France into an Empire. Which was successful for a very long time.
