Birth of Nizar
Born in Damascus to a middle class merchant family. -
Childhood and Early life
Tawfiq, the father of Nizar, was the owner of a Chocolate factory, and the Arabian writer Abu Khalil Qabbani was his great uncle.
He had five siblings,including sisters Haifa and Wisal, as well as brothers Rashid, Sabah, Mu'taz.
Nizar studied at the national scientific college school which was owned by his father's friend Ahmad Munif Al-Aidi. -
University stage
He moved to Damascus university to persue his studies in law. He started writing poetry during his time in Damascus university. -

2nd marriage
This poet got married for the second time in 1973 to a woman named Balqis al-Rawi. He had encountered her at a poetry concert in Baghdad. However, in 1981, she became the victim of a bombardment during the ‘Lebanese Civil War’ in Beirut and lost her life. -

in the 1980s it was his prolific years because he penned almost a dozen publications like " I write the of women like so " " the lover's dictionary " and " a poem for balqis " which was for his 2nd wife .
by the same decade he also released " love does not stop " " insane poems " " poems inciting anger " " love shall remain my lord " " the trilogy of the children of the stones " and so on.. -

Nizar Qabbani, who left life as a Syrian diplomat to become one of the Arab world's greatest poets, died today in London, where he lived. He was 75. The cause was a heart attack, his family said.May 1, 1998
