Brought an end to the great monarchy in Versailles. Women demanding bread to feed their children and even some men had tagged along as they arrived soaking wet from the rain. -

After Robespierre is in power he orders the execution of King Louis XVI for treason. -

The Reign of Terror was the 18-month period of natural terror in France because of all the executions for speaking out against the government. The execution of King Louis XVI marks the beginning of this. -
Execution of Robespierre
He is overthrown and arrested by the National Convention. He encouraged the execution of over 17,000 deaths by guillotine. He himself was also executed by guillotine. -
The Directory Established
Lasting for about 4 years and operated after the Committee of Public Safety. Was eventually overthrown by Napoleon. Commonly known as the Directory era.
