    Many people did not want King Louis XVI as their leader anymore because of his terrible job of being a king. The National Convention called for his trial for he had been accused for 33 crimes. At his trial, Robespierre spoke and was an important reason for the execution of the king because of his convincing points. Louis died on January 21, 1793.

    On June 2, Robespierre called on people in the 3rd estate to revolt at the National Convention.

    On this day, Robespierre took Danton's place as president of the Commitee of Public Safety after his execution. The Commitee of Public Safety was known as a war council and helped from one individual from gaining too much power. (Corzine 89) Robespierre becoming president of this commitee was important because it was one of the biggest boosts of popularity he had to gotten so far and he just became so well known throughout France because of this.

    Robespierre was not only very into politics, but he was also very much fascinated in philosophy. He was most inspired by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, another famous philosopher. In May of 1794, he tried to get the National Convention to make a new offical religion called "the cult of the Supreme Being". This was a significant time in his life because it showed his philosophical views when people mostly saw him as a politic.

    Maximilien-François-Marie-Isidore de Robespierre died on July 28, 1794. He was arrested at a meeting for the National Convention by members who turned on him. He shot himself in the jaw and was then executed by the guillotine, all on the same day. (Corzine 101)
    This was such an important day because it ended the execution of many people. It also was the day that ended the French Revolution/Reign of Terror.
